I saw a photo of this fascinating wildflower in an field identification guide, but never thought I’d see the real thing. But much to my delight this spring I discovered them in abundance on the Big Branch Trail near Sandstone Falls! This image was chosen for exhibit in the Best of West Virginia Juried Art Show 2009.
