Potter Brian vanNostrand is a self-taught potter who creates beautiful and functional original works. The basic shapes are produced on the potters wheel. The glazes and surface finishes are carefully designed by vanNostrand. The uniqueness of his pieces is exemplified by the "flashing" that occurs from the wood fire... an approximately 52 hour process of the potter adding hard & soft woods to the fire. The end result is dramatic.
