“Edge of the World” from Aurora Celtic

Aurora Celtic’s new CD, “Edge of the World”, has arrive at MountainMade. On the CD, Aurora Celtic plays evocative, energetic traditional music for guitar, fiddle, Irish flute, mandolin, tenor banjo, and pennywhistles that bridges the cultures of Scotland, Ireland and Appalachia.

Band members Alice Fleischman, Michael Broderick and Aaron Martin are multi-instrumentalists from the Thomas/Davis area of West Virginia. All three have played in numerous musical groups spanning styles as diverse as Classical, Appalachian, Celtic and Bluegrass.

Percussionist, Karl Waite, Alice’s son, joins the group for this CD playing a wide array of traditional Appalachian and African hand percussion.

This popular group is often found playing at the Purple Fiddle and Mountain State Brew Pub in Thomas.

The Irish/Old-time band Aurora Celtic will be playing at the Purple Fiddle in Thomas, WV on Thursday February 18th. They call their brand of music “Mountain Irish,” and it includes traditional and original music on fiddle, mandolin, Irish Flute, banjo and guitar.
