MountainMade is excited to bring in summer with the painting and prints of Jonathan and Jan Heath. Both are amazing talents. Jan specializes in print making. Three in particular being Monoprint, mono/lino and woodcut, wood engraving and linocut. Jonathan is a self taught painter and has been painting professionally since 1972. He works in watercolor, oil and acrylic.
Together Jonathan and Jan moved to West Virginia with their son in 1979. They make their home in Berkley Springs and in 1991 they opened up the Heath Studio Gallery. This is a working studio and gallery showing both Jonathan and Jan’s award winning paintings and prints.
Visitors may see Jonathan at his easel working on a painting or Jan using her etching press to print a linocut. With Jonathan’s “relaxed realism” as he calls it and Jan’s tranquil visions of nature , their work comes together is a most intriguing and quite balanced way if I do say so myself. MountainMade will be showing Jonathan and Jan’s work all month in June.
